BEFORE YOU PACK YOUR BAGS

A great city on paper can still be a shit place to live for you.

You land, pay for an overpriced Airbnb, then realise the gym's miles away, the area's dead and boring, and you're paying out the ass for it.

Where you live dictates how you live. Get that decision right first.

01 / RENT & SCAMS

The apartment looks great online.

Then come the tourist prices, unexpected fees, dodgy deposits or a flat that's nothing like the photos.

02 / WRONG AREA

Everything's too far away.

Your gym, cafés, friends and favourite spots are miles apart. Suddenly you're wasting time and money on Ubers every day.

03 / STARTING FROM ZERO

No friends. No contacts.

You don't know where to go, who to ask or how to build a social life once you're there.

04 / THE WRONG FIT

Looks good. Feels wrong.

A city can be fun for a week and still be a terrible fit for the life you actually want to live.

You shouldn't have to waste your first month, spend thousands of dollars, and disrupt your work just to realise you picked the wrong part of town.

Know what you're moving into before you land. Put the money and time into the life you actually want instead.

@THYLORDMATTHEW

Me. I've spent five years living across LATAM & Europe.

In 2020, I moved to Tenerife. I didn't speak the language, so I picked an Airbnb in the city that looked alright online.

Big mistake. The place was a dungeon. No windows. A stink coming from the toilet. Overpriced. And I was in a non-expat area where I couldn't communicate with anyone.

I spent time and money changing apartments, looking for a better area, a gym, cafés, food shops and people I could actually speak English with and make friends.

My work got disrupted too. Everything you take for granted gets turned upside down when you move, and your first month can disappear trying to put it all back together.

I've lived that. Now I know what to look for before arriving somewhere new. I'll give you raw, no-bullshit recommendations on where to live and how to build the lifestyle you actually want.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Good questions.

Which cities can you help with?

I'll start with destinations where I have strong first-hand experience or reliable local contacts. If you have a destination outside my usual coverage, please enquire before purchasing.

Will you actually secure the apartment?

The standard plan researches and shortlists three options with links and red flags to check. It doesn't reserve or guarantee an apartment or send money to landlords. Hands-on coordination can be discussed separately.

Can you tailor it to my lifestyle?

Yes. That's the point. Tell me your budget, what you enjoy and the places you want nearby. The plan is built around your priorities, not a generic list.

What if I want help beyond the report?

We can discuss a custom VIP scope separately, depending on the destination and which local services I can actually arrange.
